This is the start of a rambling blog - all sorts of things: writing, reading, crafting, quilting, cooking, gardening, the state of the world, green living, of mice and men, sealing wax and string. I've wanted to do this for awhile, but haven't taken any time to get things down. I don't expect anyone to read it, but maybe people will stumble in, over,or around here. I don't know if I'll allow feedback or comments - after all, this is just my out loud, mind -to-hand musings.
It's dawn here, I'm on a houseboat on a lake somewhere, SC. The lake is drying up, we're in a 8-10 year drought, it seems. Personally, I believe in global warming, I mean, you don't have to be a rocket PhD to get the picture - anyone who took 6th grade science and stayed awake in class should have an idea how this works - anyway you come at it, the earth is changing and people better get a grip on the changes.
Also, theres been a population shift, and more people are moving South; the southern states are out there recruiting population. Too bad all these small town turned city wannabes haven't figured out things like: SOURCE OF WATER for this population growth. Just because a river runs thru it doesn't mean the river is an infinite supply of fresh water. Here's a thought: you think the Iraq war was about oil (I think that's part of it) wait until the first war for water happens. Oil runs the world, but you can't drink it.
Still, it's dawn here, and theres a mauve-ness on the water; a red-gold haze on the horizon just over the darkness of the trees surrounding the lake. It harkens a day filled with golden moments, golden opportunities.
